Provide an overview of the research data management system ELN-LIMS openBIS / ETH Research Data Hub through hands-on exercises based on a material science case on sustainable insulation boards made from wheat bran and banana peels. Topics covered:

  • Registration of raw materials, chemicals, protocols, and insulation board samples in the openBIS Inventory.
  • Registration of research projects, experiments, and experimental steps in the openBIS Laboratory Notebook, including data upload and data analysis.
This course is designed for beginners and does not require any previous knowledge of the system.

Access to the training openBIS platform will be available to all course participants.
This self-paced online course offers participants the flexibility to complete the ELN-LIMS openBIS training at their own pace using a material science case study. After registration, participants will receive the training materials together with login credentials for the openBIS training platform on the official start date. Participants will have 8 days to complete the training exercises. After this period, the platform will be refreshed and entries created during the training will no longer be accessible.
