SIAM Early Career Prize for Nora Lüthen
A great honour for Nora Lüthen, a?postdoctoral researcher?in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at ETH Zurich: She has received an Early Career Prize from the US Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics for her mathematical research on the acceleration of computer simulations.
Nathan Lacroix wins DQI Best Thesis Award at APS Global Physics Summit 2026
This year's award from the Division of Quantum Information of the American Physical Society recognised the quality and significance of the doctoral research carried out by ETH Zurich alumnus Dr Nathan Lacroix, who completed his PhD in the group of Professor Andreas Wallraff.
Prof. Onur Mutlu elected as a 2025 AAAS Fellow
Prof. Onur Mutlu, Head of the SAFARI Research Group, has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
Paul Wrede selected as 2026 Schmidt Science Fellow
Paul Wrede, doctoral student at the professorship for biomedical imaging led by Prof. Daniel Razansky, has been awarded the 2026 Schmidt Science Fellowship. His goal is to explore how artificial cells can be developed to better communicate with the body and to understand fundamental biological processes.
Levchin Prize for D-INFK researchers
Professor David Basin and lecturer Ralf Sasse from the Department of Computer Science, together with Professors Cas Cremers and Jannik Dreier, have been honored with the Levchin Prize at the Real World Cryptography Conference. They received the award for developing Tamarin, a leading system for the formal verification of cryptographic protocols.
Christophe Copéret elected member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences
Christophe Copéret, Professor of Surface and Interfacial Chemistry at D-CHAB, has been elected a member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW) for his visionary advances in heterogeneous catalysis and surface chemistry.?
Andreas Krause elected as new SATW member
Andreas Krause (D-INFK), Professor of Computer Science at ETH Zurich, has been appointed as a Full Member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW) in 2026 – in recognition of his pioneering research in artificial intelligence.
Professors Menna El-Assady and Bernhard Sch?lkopf elected for UN AI Scientific Panel
Two ETH Zurich computer scientists, Menna El-Assady (D-INFK) and Bernhard Sch?lkopf (D-INFK), have been elected by the United Nations General Assembly to the newly established Independent International Scientific Panel on Artificial Intelligence, a landmark initiative assessing the opportunities and risks of AI.?
