8 Sep - 15 Oct 2023 - The heart of Zurich will transform into a unique open-air photo exhibition focusing on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).?ETH Zurich is the scientific partner of open your eyes 2023.
"open your eyes: Transforming our World," encapsulates an extraordinary combination of world-renowned photography and groundbreaking research. This remarkable event will be shown in Zurich as an open-air exhibition from 8 September to 15 October, 2023.
Open-air installations will gracefully intertwine the realms of documentary photography and scientific knowledge across 17 exhibition islands. The result is a resounding call for peace, tolerance, and unity, aligned with the spirit of the external page 2030 Agenda for Global Sustainable Development. Public spaces become a stage for a comprehensive work of art, infused with the essence of research findings that resonate within us all. The outcome is an array of astonishing perspectives brimming with creativity.

The primary objective of open your eyes is to enthrall visitors and encourage them to engage with the pressing issues of our time, fostering empathy and eliciting awe through exceptional imagery. This extraordinary experience transcends boundaries, weaving together nature, beauty, art, and profound insights, ultimately inspiring contemplation of our world and empowering us to shape it sustainably.
ETH Zurich adds about 50 contributions from its own universe of science and innovation to the visual works. The projects and solutions selected by ETH Zurich for each of the SDGs provide guidance for action. In terms of content, this means making the successes of our civilisation visible. And further, it means triggering national and international media communication to strengthen the SDGs as a frame of reference for peaceful and just co-?existence in a global society.
